Character Counter for Creators

Paste your title or caption. See the character limit, how much is visible before «more» and how many hashtags you used.

Every platform cuts your text at a different point, and the cut that matters is not the hard limit. An Instagram caption can be 2200 characters, but only about the first 125 show before «more». A YouTube title can be 100 characters, but search results show roughly the first 60 to 70. This counter shows both numbers for each platform and previews what people see first.

Emojis count correctly as one character each, the way the apps count them. The hashtag counter helps with Instagram's limit of 5 hashtags per post (since December 2025, before it was 30). Your text stays in your browser.

How it works

  1. Pick the platform YouTube title or description, Instagram, TikTok, X or LinkedIn.
  2. Paste your text The counter and the preview update as you type.
  3. Check the first line Put the hook into the visible part, before the cut.
