FAQ
What resolution is the screenshot?
The native resolution of the best stream: typically 1080p for Reels and TikToks, up to 4K for YouTube. You can also choose a lower resolution.
Is it an exact frame?
Yes, we seek to the timestamp you enter and export that frame. Give it a time with decimals (12.5) for sub-second precision.
Why JPG and not PNG?
We export JPG at the maximum quality setting, which is visually lossless and a tenth of the size. PNG export is on the list.
Is this really free?
Yes. Every tool on Shortform Kit is free, with no account, no watermark and no daily limit for normal use. We run it on our own server and keep costs low on purpose.
Do you store my files or links?
No. The file is created for you, kept for 15 minutes so you can save it, then deleted automatically. We don't log which links you paste.
Which content is allowed?
Only public posts. Private accounts, stories that need a login and age-restricted videos don't work, and we never ask for your password. Download only content you have the right to use.
