Instagram Reel Transcript Tools Compared
Which free tool turns a Reel link into text without a catch? Daily limits, subtitle export and signup, side by side.
- YouTube
- TikTok
- X
- Threads
- Vimeo
Several sites promise to turn an Instagram Reel into text from its link. They differ in the details that matter: how many you can do per day, whether you get timed subtitles or only plain text, and whether you need an account. We checked the tool pages on 12 October 2026. We make Shortform Kit, so judge our row with that in mind.
| Tool | Free limit | Subtitles (SRT) | Signup |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eden | fair use, no fixed limit | no, TXT | no |
| BibiGPT | 3 per day | not stated on the tool page | no |
| Kollab | credits | SRT-style rows | to save work and use credits |
| Kapwing | 10 min auto-subtitles, watermark | yes | yes |
| Shortform Kit | no daily limit, 20 min per transcript | yes, SRT and VTT | no |
Eden is a good choice if you only need plain text. If you want subtitles to drop into an editor, or to translate the Reel into English, use a tool with SRT export.
How it works
- Copy the Reel link Share, then Copy link.
- Paste it above Transcript is preselected.
- Copy text or save SRT Optional: translate to English.
FAQ
Which tool is the most accurate?
Tools that run Whisper or similar models perform alike on clear speech. Differences show with music, accents and several speakers; test your own Reel in two tools if accuracy matters.
Why do some tools limit you to three a day?
They pay per minute for a cloud speech API. Shortform Kit runs Whisper on its own server, so there is no per-use cost to pass on.
Is this really free?
Yes. Every tool on Shortform Kit is free, with no account, no watermark and no daily limit for normal use. We run it on our own server and keep costs low on purpose.
Do you store my files or links?
No. The file is created for you, kept for 15 minutes so you can save it, then deleted automatically. We don't log which links you paste.
Which content is allowed?
Only public posts. Private accounts, stories that need a login and age-restricted videos don't work, and we never ask for your password. Download only content you have the right to use.
