Safe Zone Checker

Drop a 9:16 image or video and see exactly which parts the Reels, TikTok or Shorts interface covers. Nothing is uploaded.

Every short-form app puts its own interface over your video: the caption and username at the bottom, the like, comment and share buttons on the right, the search and camera icons on top. Text or a face in those areas is hidden for most viewers. This checker overlays the covered areas on your own frame, so you see the problem before you post.

The zones are measured from the apps' current layouts at 1080×1920 (October 2026). Apps move their buttons now and then, so leave a little extra margin. Scrub through a video to check every scene.

FAQ

What are the safe zones for Instagram Reels?

At 1080×1920, keep roughly the top 220 px, the bottom 450 px and the right 140 px free of important content. The bottom is the biggest problem because the caption and audio line sit there.

Are TikTok and Reels safe zones the same?

Close, not identical. TikTok covers more at the bottom (about 480 px) and has wider buttons on the right; YouTube Shorts has the widest right column (about 190 px).

Is my file uploaded?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser. The file is read on your device and never sent to our server, so it also works with unreleased or private material.
