This Instagram Reel downloader saves public Reels as an MP4 file with the original audio track included. Many downloaders deliver Reels without the music because Instagram serves video and sound separately; we merge both, so the file plays exactly like the Reel.
Quality: Reels are usually available in 1080×1920, often 1440×2560. You choose the resolution before you download. No watermark is added, nothing is re-encoded unless the platform only offers separate streams.
How it works
- Copy the Reel link In the Instagram app open the Reel, tap the three dots or the share arrow and choose Copy link.
- Paste the link Tap the field above. We read the Reel and show the cover, title and available qualities.
- Download MP4 or MP3 Choose Video for the MP4 with sound, Audio for the MP3, or Cover for the thumbnail. Save the file.
FAQ
Does the download include the music?
Yes. We download Instagram's video and audio streams and merge them, so the Reel's music or original sound is in the MP4.
What resolution are Instagram Reels?
Instagram serves Reels in 720p, 1080p and often 1440p (1440×2560). The tool lists the resolutions that exist for the Reel you pasted and picks the best by default.
Can I download Reels from private accounts?
No. Only public Reels work. We never ask for your Instagram login.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes. Open shortformkit.com in Safari, paste the link and save the MP4 to Files or Photos. No app needed.
Is this really free?
Yes. Every tool on Shortform Kit is free, with no account, no watermark and no daily limit for normal use. We run it on our own server and keep costs low on purpose.
Do you store my files or links?
No. The file is created for you, kept for 15 minutes so you can save it, then deleted automatically. We don't log which links you paste.
Which content is allowed?
Only public posts. Private accounts, stories that need a login and age-restricted videos don't work, and we never ask for your password. Download only content you have the right to use.
