Long YouTube Video Downloader

Full podcasts, lectures and livestream replays up to 4 hours, as MP4 or MP3. Or just the part you need.

Most online downloaders stop at 10 to 30 minutes or fail halfway through long files. Shortform Kit handles YouTube videos up to 4 hours. In our own test a 2 hour 5 minute podcast came out as a 1080p H.264 MP4 (1 GB) in 102 seconds and as an MP3 (136 MB) in 95 seconds.

Videos longer than one hour are delivered in up to 1080p to keep the files manageable. If you only need a segment, turn on Only a section: we fetch only that part from YouTube, so a 30-second clip from a 3-hour stream takes seconds. Downloads can be resumed if your connection drops.

FAQ

How long can the video be?

Up to 4 hours. That covers almost every podcast, lecture and stream replay.

Why only 1080p for videos over an hour?

A 3-hour video in 4K is 10 to 20 GB. 1080p keeps it around 1 to 2 GB per hour, which downloads reliably and plays everywhere.

Can I get just the audio of a 3-hour podcast?

Yes. Choose Audio for an MP3, about 60 to 70 MB per hour.

My download stopped halfway. Do I have to start over?

No. The file supports resuming, so your browser or download manager can continue where it stopped.

Is this really free?

Yes. Every tool on Shortform Kit is free, with no account, no watermark and no daily limit for normal use. We run it on our own server and keep costs low on purpose.

Do you store my files or links?

No. The file is created for you, kept for 15 minutes so you can save it, then deleted automatically. We don't log which links you paste.

Which content is allowed?

Only public posts. Private accounts, stories that need a login and age-restricted videos don't work, and we never ask for your password. Download only content you have the right to use.
