YouTube Link with Timestamp

Paste a YouTube link and a time. You get a short and a full link that start right there. Below, check your chapter list.

A link that starts at the right second saves your viewer the scrolling. YouTube supports this with the t parameter, for example youtu.be/ID?t=83 starts at 1:23. This tool builds both the short and the full link from any YouTube URL, including Shorts and live links.

The chapter checker tests the rules YouTube applies before it shows chapters in the progress bar: the first chapter must start at 0:00, there must be at least three, and each must be at least 10 seconds long. If one rule fails, YouTube silently ignores all chapters. Paste your list and fix it before publishing.

How it works

  1. Paste the video link Any YouTube link works: watch, youtu.be, Shorts or live.
  2. Enter the start time As 1:23 or 1:02:03, or in seconds.
  3. Copy the link Short link for chats and posts, full link if a platform strips the short one.

Usually the first chapter doesn't start at 0:00, there are fewer than three, or one is shorter than 10 seconds. The checker shows which rule fails.

Does the timestamp work in embeds?

For embeds use the start parameter instead, for example youtube.com/embed/ID?start=83.

Does the time link work on phones?

Yes, the YouTube app respects the t parameter.
