Instagram Grid Crop (3:4)

Crop a photo to 1080×1440 for the new 3:4 profile grid, or to 4:5, 9:16 and 1:1, and see what the grid cuts off. Runs in your browser.

Since 2025 Instagram's profile grid shows posts as 3:4 rectangles instead of squares. A 4:5 post (1080×1350) still works in the feed, but on your profile the left and right edges are cut by about 3 percent each, because a 3:4 tile is narrower than 4:5. Posting in 3:4 (1080×1440) avoids that, and this tool crops your photo to exactly that size.

Choose the format, drop the photo, drag it into position and zoom if needed. With 4:5 selected you can switch on the 3:4 grid overlay to see what profile visitors will see.

How it works

  1. Choose the format 3:4 grid, 4:5 post, 9:16 story or 1:1.
  2. Drop your photo Drag to position, use the zoom slider to tighten the crop.
  3. Save the JPG Exported at full Instagram size, ready to post.

FAQ

What size is the Instagram profile grid?

Posts appear as 3:4 tiles. Uploading at 1080×1440 shows the whole image in both feed and grid.

Should I still post 4:5?

3:4 is even taller than 4:5, so it also takes more space in the feed. If you post 4:5, keep important content inside the 3:4 overlay, because the grid trims the sides.

Is my file uploaded?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser. The file is read on your device and never sent to our server, so it also works with unreleased or private material.
