One-Click Buttons for Your Browser

Drag a button to your bookmarks bar. On any video page, one click opens it in Shortform Kit, with the current second for screenshots.

Bookmarklets are small bookmarks that run a line of code instead of opening a page. These three send the address of the page you are on to Shortform Kit. The screenshot button also passes the second where the video is paused, so you land directly on the right frame.

They work in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave and Safari on desktop. Nothing is installed and no permissions are needed. A Chrome extension with the same buttons is on its way to the Chrome Web Store.

How it works

  1. Show the bookmarks bar Ctrl+Shift+B, or Cmd+Shift+B on a Mac.
  2. Drag a button up Drop it on the bar. Rename it if you like.
  3. Click it on a video Pause where you want the still, then click Screenshot now.

FAQ

Is this safe?

Yes. The code only reads the page address and the current video time and opens shortformkit.com with them. You can read the full code by right-clicking the bookmark and choosing Edit.

Does it work on the phone?

Bookmarklets are clumsy on mobile. On iPhone and Android, copy the link in the app and paste it on shortformkit.com instead.

Is this really free?

Yes. Every tool on Shortform Kit is free, with no account, no watermark and no daily limit for normal use. We run it on our own server and keep costs low on purpose.

Do you store my files or links?

No. The file is created for you, kept for 15 minutes so you can save it, then deleted automatically. We don't log which links you paste.

Which content is allowed?

Only public posts. Private accounts, stories that need a login and age-restricted videos don't work, and we never ask for your password. Download only content you have the right to use.
