Share links open a preview page first. That is annoying when you send footage to a client, embed a file on a website or hand a link to a download manager. This tool rewrites the link so it starts the download directly. For Google Docs, Sheets and Slides it also gives you export links, for example a Doc as PDF or DOCX.
The conversion happens in your browser, nothing is sent to us. The file still has to be shared as «anyone with the link».
How it works
- Copy the share link In Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive: Share, set to anyone with the link, Copy link.
- Paste it above The direct links appear as you paste.
- Copy or test Copy the direct link, or click Test to try it.
FAQ
Why does Google show a virus scan warning?
Google can't scan files larger than about 100 MB, so it shows a notice once. Click Download anyway. The link itself is correct.
Does this work for folders?
No, only single files. Zip the folder first, or share the folder link as it is.
Is the link permanent?
Yes, as long as the file stays shared. If you stop sharing, the direct link stops working too.
