Compress Image
Get photos under an upload limit without guessing quality settings.
The tool lowers JPG or WebP quality step by step and only shrinks the pixel size if quality alone isn't enough. PNG files are saved as WebP, because PNG can't be compressed much without losing its lossless nature.
The images are converted inside your browser with the canvas built into every modern browser. Your photos never leave your device, and the converted files contain no location or camera data.
How it works
- Drop your images Or tap to choose. You can pick many at once.
- Pick the options Quality, target size or new size, depending on the tool.
- Save Click Convert, then save each file or all at once.
FAQ
Which target size should I pick?
Many forms allow 1 or 2 MB. For email and chats, 500 KB keeps photos sharp on a phone. 100 to 200 KB is enough for websites and profile pictures.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is sent to our server.
Is it free?
Yes. No account, no watermark, no limit on the number of files.
What happens to the photo's metadata?
The converted file is drawn fresh, so EXIF data like GPS location and camera model is removed. The orientation is applied to the pixels, so the photo stays upright.
